Diomed's solutions include the innovative Greater Saphenous Vein Reflux treatment Endo Venous Laser Treatment (EVLT), cancer and pre-cancer treatments using Photo Dynamic Therapy (PDT), as well as other minimally invasive clinical solutions. Minimal and micro-invasive medical procedures typically result in reduced pain, no scarring, shorter recovery periods, increased effectiveness and lower costs compared to traditional surgical procedures. The company has realized a market leading position through EVLT and is experiencing strong growth. Diomed's oldweb site was over three years old and in need of a major redesign. Objectives Embarc's goal was to deliver a best in class Internet presence for Diomed. The previous site needed to be redesigned with a fresh new look to more accurately reflect Diomed's market leading position, leading technology, and the positive impact Diomed is making for people through the use of their technology. This needs to be strongly conveyed in imagery, messaging, and content throughout the site. Embarc recommended the following: - Compelling Design - Embarc's process, experience with medical companies, and talented resources ensured that the site is effective and compelling for the target audiences.
- Sharpen the hook - Compelling use of animation or demos to more effectively tell the story so visitors quickly “get it” as to why Diomed is different and better than other options. Diomed's story is one that is very effectively conveyed visually.
 Keep the site fresh – The site is designed so internal personnel can maintain it using Embarc's EzUpdate Content Management tool to make it easy to maintain, to sustain the design consistency, allowing non-technical resources to update areas of the site in a timely and cost effective manner.- Become a resource for the Practice via a partner Extranet – provide information of value such as training information, SOPs, integration of “medical news”, CMEs
