Athena Diagnostics, Inc. is a reference laboratory dedicated to the development and commercialization of diagnostic testing in the fields of neurology, endocrinology and nephrology. Using innovative technologies, Athena provides neurologists and other physicians with diagnostic answers that can improve the quality of health care for patients in a cost effective manner. The new website gives sales and support staff access to unprecedented online tools to streamline the identification and ordering of the appropriate diagnostic test, as well as a resource for storing and categorizing ordering and billing information with Athena's new online account center. Athena is the authoritative source of information on the clinical relevance of tests as well as how to accurately and efficiently get test results. Through discovery workshops and working closely with Athena's management team, Embarc was able to understand Athena's value proposition, and understand the needs of their target audiences. By conducting intensive workshops, Embarc was able to execute a corporate image that accurately conveys their brand, audience and Athena's science. Using AJAX, the test catalog allows users to browse all of Athena's diagnostic tests based on criteria such as keywords, disorder category, and specific disease. When a user begins entering search criteria, filtered results dynamically appear on the page.By eliminating the need to submit a form every time the user modifies search criteria, the visitors user experience is greatly enhanced. Embarc implemented the EzUpdate Content Management system on Athena Diagnostics' site. This system allows Athena's non-technical users to update rich content on every page of the website, as well as rearrange the pages within the site with ease. In addition to managing page content, Athena can maintain a searchable, online database of their diagnostic tests, which is an important part of the company's online presence.
